Thai Massage is an ancient therapeutic art that blends acupressure, sen (energy) line work, joint mobilization, and yoga-inspired stretching. This clothed, movement-based massage is performed on a padded floor mat, allowing fluid transitions and full-body engagement between practitioner and recipient.
This 32-hour continuing education training, offered over two weekends, provides a comprehensive foundation in Northern-Style Thai Massage. Students will explore both the practical techniques and the cultural, theoretical, and historical roots of this healing tradition. Training includes:
A complete Thai massage sequence incorporating supine, prone, side-lying, and seated positions
Study and application of the 10 major sen lines
Proper body mechanics to support ease, strength, and longevity for the practitioner
Precautions and contraindications for safe and effective practice
An introduction to the history, theory, and ethical principles of traditional Thai massage
The skills and confidence to deliver a 90–120 minute Thai massage session
This course welcomes anyone with a sincere interest in healing arts and bodywork—no prior experience is necessary. It is an excellent enrichment for licensed massage therapists, yoga teachers and students, physical therapists, personal trainers, movement practitioners, and anyone wishing to offer meaningful care to others, including friends and family.
Instructor Kevin Lynchis an NCBTMB-approved continuing education provider; participants will receive 32 CE hours applicable toward license renewal.
Kevin is also a recognized Master Thai Practitioner and Instructor through SVG School in Thailand. Upon successful completion, students earn the distinction of Thai Massage Practitioner (TMP). Massage licensure is not required to receive this certification.
